Vacuum Cleaners
Can you please recommend the vacuum cleaner that is most effective at
sucking up pollen, dust, cat hair, etc?
Thanks for asking about vacuum cleaners and their use in allergy homes.
All vacuum cleaners do a good job of sucking dust and dirt into the
device being employed, but the better vacuum cleaners use filter systems
to collect as much of the debris as possible.
The other interesting fact about vacuum cleaners is that they all
will send aeroallergens airborne, making it more difficult to breath for
those allergic to pet danders and dust mite allergens. Even those devices
using water vaporize particles and produce tremendous levels of aeroallergens.
So, to answer your question, use a vacuum cleaner with the best filter
system, such as a HEPA filter.
It may be more effective for allergy sufferers to not have either
indoor pets or have wall-to-wall carpeting, so that the vacuum becomes less
important.
Good luck.
