Nighttime Coughing
My throat constantly itches and I cough a lot during the night?
Does this mean that I have an allergy?
Thanks for asking about itching and a night time cough.
It is possible that you may be experiencing allergy reactions. Allergy
symptoms are more common in the evening hours since the normal human
circadian rhythm allows for more cortisone to be present in the day time
hours and less in the evening after 4 PM. Cortisone reduces the effects of
allergy inflammation. As there is normally less in the system during the
night time hours, more allergy symptoms are likely to occur in the
sensitized, allergic patient.
There is no way possible to make a diagnosis over the internet. You will
need to consult with your own physician or an Allergy Specialist in your area.
I hope this info is helpful. Good luck.
