Exercise Induced Asthma
Dear Sir or Madam,
My wife suffers from exercise induced asthma. We are currently living in
Ireland, but are considering a move to Albany, GA. We were wondering if the
climate in Albany would be uncomfortable for my wife given her medical
situation.
Regards
Eamon F.
Dear Eamon,
Thanks for asking about your wife's asthma and a possible relocation from
Ireland to Georgia, USA.
It is impossible to provide an exact answer for you without knowing what
type of asthma she has, what she may be allergic to and what medications
she currently requires.
In general, having asthma and moving to another climate is not a problem as
there are very effective medications to control the inflammation within the
lungs of most asthma sufferers. Also, there are excellent Allergy
Specialists and clinicians available in Georgia to treat asthmatic patients.
Exercise induced asthma symptoms can be controlled by testing available
medications during lung function testing to determine which one(s) work
best. Without testing, however, it is only a guess as to which of the many
asthma drugs would be better for her.
Hope this brief reply helps you.
Good luck.
